Two letters addressed to Blanchard, one concerning African-Americans and the other concerning politics in the South. The letter from Mrs. George S. Williams, an African-American woman and National Committeewoman in Georgia for the Republican National Committee, refers to the Lily-whitism in the Republican Party. The letter from Oliver D. Street, a member of the Republican National Committee in Alabama, reports on Republican and Democratic voter registration procedures in his state, and on those factions in Alabama's Democratic Party supporting or opposing Gov. Alfred E. Smith of New York.
